Zeina Jaklis

Zeina had a heart of gold and a gentle light that touched everyone she met. She attended the University of Ottawa and later returned to support and guide students through their own university journeys. She married the love of her life, Naji Azoury, and together they had a son, Joe – the absolute light of their lives. Zeina’s love and devotion to Joe were unwavering; she nurtured him with tenderness, strength, and joy, and took immense pride in the young man he has become.

Together, Zeina and Naji built a beautiful life grounded in faith, love, and deep devotion to family. She cherished time with her loved ones above all else, showing her care in everyday moments that made others feel seen and deeply loved.

She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, godmother, cousin, and dear friend. She is survived by her parents, Habib and Samira Jaklis; her husband, Naji Azoury; her beloved son, Joe Azoury; her brothers, Ziad Jaklis (Pascale) and Walid Jaklis (Tanya); her cherished nieces and nephew, Thomas, Karina and Lina; and countless cousins, aunts, uncles and friends around the world whose lives were brightened by her presence.

A Viewing will be held at 11:30 AM EST followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM EST on Tuesday, May 6th at Saint Charbel Parish (245 Donald Street, Ottawa, Ontario). **

For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart Institute at University of Ottawa (www.ottawaheart.ca) or Saint Charbel Parish in Ottawa would be appreciated.
