Astaire was born in Sipocot, Camarines Sur, Philippines, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. From 1964 to 1966, she shared her love for learning as a second-grade teacher at Calanghan Community School.
On January 26, 1963, she married the love of her life, the late Julian L. Guanzon. Their journey brought them to the United States in 1970, settling in Port Hueneme, California, during Julian’s naval service.
After arriving in the U.S., Astaire transitioned into the medical manufacturing industry, where she thrived for over 15 years. She worked with dedication and skill at Falcon Labs, Becton and Dickinson, and Spectramed.
