Brian Lee Scott

Brian is survived by his precious daughter, Malia Scott; parents, Michael and Tessie; sister, Danielle; loving Grandmothers, Concepcion Abueg and Candice Wolcott and numerous loving Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Brian is preceded in death by his Grandfathers, Lance R. Scott and Roman T. Abueg.

Brian spent his short life In Ventura County. He attended pre-school at Our Redeemer, grade school at Christa McAuliffe, and Junior High at Fremont. He made many life-long friends who will greatly miss him.

Brian graduated from Oxnard High School in 2000 and attended ITT before joining the U.S. Marines. He completed boot camp and was home on his 10 day leave when the tragedy of 9/11 occurred. Brian then completed his specialized training over the next year. Brian was sent to Iraq in January 2003 and geared up for the invasion of Iraq in March 2003. He was proud to serve our Country.

Brian was blessed with a beautiful daughter in 2007. Malia was always happy and loved being with her Daddy. The short time they have spent together will always be special to her. Malia will continue to be loved and cared for by those he left behind.

Brian always had a smile that could melt your heart. He was the light of his Grandpa’s life; he and his Grandpa were always very close. Brian was there to help Grandma take care of Grandpa until he passed in April of 2013.

As a young boy he enjoyed camping with his family and loved the beauties of Yosemite. His love of cars and customizing them was a great passion of his. Brian was a friend to everyone who met him and he filled every room he entered with light and laughter. He had a forgiving heart and was especially kind and generous to those less fortunate and was known to give his last dollar to those in need.

Brian was a talented piano player. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends with his beautiful music. He especially loved to play “Too Late to Apologize” at our family gatherings.

We will always remember our beloved Brian. He had a heart of gold and he will forever remain a special part of each and every one of us.

There will be a viewing on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Santa Clara Mortuary, 2370 North H. Street, Oxnard, Ca. 93036; with the Rosary held at 6:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Clara Church, 323 S. E Street, Oxnard, Ca. 93030.

Immediately following the Mass, Brian will be buried next to his Grandpa Abueg at Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 North H. Street, Oxnard, Ca. 93036.
