Delia Lara Hernandez

Delia Lara Hernandez was born on November 9, 1936 in the house of her parents, Carmen, and John Lara, in Oxnard, California. She was peacefully welcomed into the gates of heaven on October 8, 2021. She was preceded in death by Raymond Granados (Son), Carmen Lara (Mother), John Lara (Father), Lorraine Galvan (Sister), Armando Lara (Brother), and Raymond Lara (Brother).

She is survived by her four children, Jess Johnny Granados, Aurora Calderon, Frank Granados, Eddie Granados; her four sisters, Margaret Cano, Isabel Soliz, Elva Castro and Mary Lou Magana; her 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Delia was a devout Catholic who showed great love for her family and friends. Her cheerful personality and warm smile could brighten any room. She will always be remembered for her love of the Dodgers and impeccable fashion sense. For many years, Delia worked for Heublein, "La Chileria" and Oxnard Frozen Foods, where she became a very active member of the Teamsters, and met many lifelong friends. Her loved ones will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 12pm – 7pm at Funeraria del Angel Oxnard (401 West Channel Islands Blvd Oxnard, CA 93033) with the rosary to begin at 6pm. Mass will be held at Santa Clara Church (323 S. E Street, Oxnard, CA 93030) on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 10am and will be followed by the procession to Santa Clara Cemetery.

Grandma was definitely a strong & independent woman! She had amazing stories & always had some wisdom to share. Always dressed to impress & that is one thing that has always stayed me! “Mija always look nice Bc you never know who you are going to see, make them jealous!” Grandma will be missed everyday!!
