Ida R. Gomez
March 29, 1947 – March 30, 2019
Ida Rivera Gomez, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Born in Brownsville, Tx but lived in Oxnard, Ca for most of her life. She raised 3 children, Guadalupe Harrion, Rubina Fabian and Pedro Marquez III, who all live in Oxnard. She worked for the US Treasury Dept, Internal Revenue Service for over 20 years before retiring. She re-married to her childhood sweetheart, Mr. Juan Gomez and returned to her hometown of Brownsville. She is survived by her husband, mother, 2 sisters, 5 brothers, 3 children, their spouses, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was very proud of her children and always encouraged them to do good, do more and give back. She loved to garden and listen to music but her favorite past-time was to be wherever her kids and grandbabies were. She loved the outdoors and being at the beach. She loved California history, Native American artifacts, all things Texas and was a true patriot of the United States and the American Flag. She will be profoundly missed but remains with us in every yellow rose and every pretty thing.
