Her signature dish was Adobo.

Nellie is preceded in death by her sister Juling, brothers Ernesto and Benjamin and her parents. Nellie is survived by her loving husband, Romy, brothers John and Manuel, sister Rose, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other relatives.

Nellie, as we fondly call her is my younger cousin but not too far behind. I remember her as always a jolly good fella especially when there was a good story, fake or real. I could still hear her laughter as I write this obituary. She called me ManLin, short cut of Manang Lina, which was always endearing. My memory of her was that when we were young vacationing in Salvacion we went catching "bunog" or small fishes in the "karayan"and it was always fun. She lived with us while in High School and was same age as my sister Thelma. I was away in college then but always saw her when I came home. She made friends easily and loved by them. Good cook, especially fresh vegetables from the garden, " dinengdeng ". Generous with her time and assets.
I will miss you dearly Nellie, your voice, your stories and your laughter. Who will bring those big strawberries from Oxnard now that you are gone?
Don't despair because Manong Erning is with you. For you, no more pain, suffering or agony. I have a heavy heart to learn of your passing and like I said its good to cry, so I cried my hearts out. Eternal life awaits you.
We pray for the repose of her soul. We commend you to your God. Godspeed.
