Lucille Adams Moore

Lucille Adams-More, 80 of Oxnard, was born September 26, 1932, in Haughton, La. Met Johnny Felton Moore in 1946, and they were married on February 25, 1947. Felt and Lucy were blessed to be married for sixty-two years. In this union they had three daughters, Bernice, Louise and Luvone. All three daughters are still residing in Oxnard and were at her bedside during her transitioning.

She grew up in Haughton, La., on the Marshall Farm and then migrated to California in 1958 until she went home to be with the Lord on January 3, 2013. Lucille was a dedicated housewife and loving mother. She fellowshipped with Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Oxnard and later she joined New Progressive Christian Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ. Lucille welcomed everyone into her home. She never met a stranger, she always had an open door policy and ready to feed and comfort others. Her favorite past times were: cooking, reading and listening to music.

Lucille Adams-Moore was preceded in death by her mother and father, Castoria and Aaron Adams; husband, Johnny Felton Moore; two brothers, Bud and Aaron Adams; three sisters, Bertha Jackson, Henrietta Cameron and Rosie Lee Rodgers.

She is survived by one sister, Castoria Adams; three brother, Joe Benny (Joyce) Adams of Oxnard, Jessie (Vera) Adams of Henderson, Nev., and James (Beatrice Adams of Oxnard; two sisters-in-law, Bessie Sheppard of Lancaster, Texas, and Ruby Moore of Haughton, La. She leaves to mourn her memory, her loving and devoted three daughters, Bernice D. (Ray Charles deceased) Mitchell, Louise E. (Tyrone) Burton and Luvone R. (Willie O.) Boyd; her extended son, Arthur Lee (Nona) Bolen; eight grandchildren, five extended grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

The family wishes to express its sincerest appreciation to the Palliative Care Team and the Livingston CareGivers group with special thanks to Nurse Julie, Nurse Jackie and also Araceli and Michelle.

Services will be held Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Dave Christian Center. Funeral Service will be Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Dove Christian Center, 241 w.
