Nuestra querida madre nació en Morelia, Michoacán, México, donde comenzó su historia de fortaleza y perseverancia. Fue la mayor de siete hermanos: tres hermanas y tres hermanos, uno de ellos ya fallecido. Desde pequeña asumió responsabilidades con amor y dedicación, dando siempre ejemplo de liderazgo, generosidad y unión familiar.

Desde niña trabajó junto a su padre vendiendo fresas y donas caseras, aprendiendo el valor del esfuerzo y el sacrificio.

A los diecisiete años conoció al amor de su vida y más tarde se casó. Fue bendecida con dos hijas en México.

En 1973, con valentía y esperanza de un mejor futuro para su familia, emigró a los Estados Unidos. La familia se estableció en Somis, California, donde crió a su familia. Después de llegar a los Estados Unidos, fue bendecida con dos hijos más — otra hija y su único hijo varón.

Mom Chela dedicó su vida a ser una esposa, madre y más adelante abuelita amorosa. Siempre pensaba en los demás antes que en ella misma. Su amor era humilde pero inmenso, demostrado a través de su cuidado, su comida hecha con cariño, sus oraciones y la calidez de su presencia.

Le gustaban las reuniones al aire libre, ya fuera en casa rodeada de su familia o disfrutando en el parque. Amaba profundamente a sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos. Fue bendecida con siete nietos, una nietecita en el cielo, tres bisnietos y una hermosa bisnieta en camino. Se sentía tan orgullosa de cada uno de ellos.

Entre sus pasatiempos estaban tejer y hacer crochet, visitar el Chumash Casino Resort, y en sus últimos días, disfrutar ver el canal de cocina de Raquel. También le gustaba sentarse bajo el sol y sentir el calor en sus piernas — momentos sencillos que le brindaban paz y consuelo.

Cuando mamá se enfermó, nosotros, sus hijos, la cuidamos con el mismo amor con el que ella siempre nos cuidó. Estar a su lado fue un honor y una bendición. Cada momento con ella los conservamos.

Una de sus frases favoritas era: “No se te olvide que los quiero” y “Que Dios los acompañe.” Esas palabras vivirán para siempre en nuestro corazón.

Su legado es amor, sacrificio, fe y familia. La extrañaremos profundamente, pero vivirá por siempre en nuestros corazones.

In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Mother

Our beloved mother was born in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico, where her story of strength and resilience began. She was the eldest of seven siblings — three sisters and three brothers, one of whom has preceded her in passing. From a young age, she carried responsibilities with grace and set an example of love, generosity, and unity within her family.

As a young girl, she worked alongside her father selling strawberries and homemade donuts, learning early on the value of hard work and sacrifice.

At seventeen, she met the love of her life and later married. She was blessed with two daughters in Mexico.

In 1973, with courage and hope for a better future, she came to the United States. The family settled in Somis, California, where she raised her family. Shortly after moving to the United States, she was blessed with two more children — another daughter and her only son.

Mom Chela dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother, and later, grandmother. She always put others before herself. Her love was quiet but powerful, which was demonstrated through her care, her home-cooked meals, her prayers, and the warmth of her presence.

She loved outdoor gatherings, whether at home surrounded by family or enjoying time at the park. She treasured her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, one grandchild in heaven, three great-grandchildren, and one beautiful baby girl on the way. She was so proud of each and every one of them.

Mom enjoyed knitting and crocheting, spending time at Chumash Casino Resort, and in her later days, watching Raquel’s food channel. She loved sitting in the sun, letting the warmth touch her legs — simple moments that brought her comfort and peace.

When Mom became ill, we, her children, lovingly cared for her just as she had always cared for us. Being there for her was our honor. We cherished every moment with her.

One of her favorite phrases was, “Don’t forget that I love you so much,” and “God be with you.” Those words will forever echo in our hearts.

Her legacy is love, sacrifice, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed, but she will live in our hearts forever.
