My deepest condolences to the family. I knew Maribel in high school ( Channel Islands HS) She was a beautiful person both inside and out. My hope is that you treasure every good memory of Maribel as I do. She helped a very shy Hispanic boy to love school, love people, love life! I am heartbroken but I know that she lives in our memory. Truly a treasure to those she knew like me!! I will miss her dearly. God be with you and your family.

My condolences to Gerry, Luke, Isaiah, and the family.  Maribel and I both started teaching in Rio the same year. The following year, she became my next-door neighbor at Rio Real for a few years. Besides being an excellent, dedicated teacher, Maribel was one of the nicest and kindest person I’d ever met. This is so sad and she will be greatly missed by all. 

I am devastated to hear the news of your passing Maribel. Truly! What a loss we have suffered. You were such an amazing woman, teacher, educator, mom, wife, sister, daughter and friend. I am so thankful that we met. You taught me so much when I was getting started as a teacher. I wish you would have gotten to meet my daughter. So much love to your whole family: Gerardo, Isaiah, Luke and more. I´m so sorry for your loss and you are all in my family´s and I´s prayers.

My best memories with Maribel were sharing stories of our sons because we were the moms of only boys. We met in the Moms Club of Oxnard.  She was also a hard worker as the librarian at my sons school. Always saying a sweet hello!  RIP my friend Maribel.

I met Maribel when I was Isaiah’s first grade teacher at Mesa. Our teacher/parent relationship became a colleague one when she became part of the staff at Mesa. Listening to “Ms. Maribel” read stories to my first graders through the years was music to my ears. I loved Thursday afternoons, my library time. Kind and beautiful, our Maribel. 
Your chapter has ended but your story lives on in those who love and adore you. May peace be yours now. 

I was saddened to hear the news of Ms. Maribel's passing.  She was a very sweet and caring woman, and it showed. She was exactly what Mesa school represents.  She was fun to be around and it was a pleasure working with her.  We enjoyed talking about the Dodgers victories and she was known for wearing her Dodgers gear.  Thank you for being a sweet heart to my child as well as his classmates.  Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for your loss.  Ms. Maribel,  May you rest in paradise along side Vin Scully.

My daughter and I are part of the Mesa family and have many fond memories of Ms Maribel. "She was kind and caring and one of my best friends" from Sofia.  She had the chance of building a relationship with Ms Maribel during the covid school year.  I enjoyed talking baseball with Maribel. "Go Dodgers!" Was our usual greeting. She will be greatly missed by my family and I.

I was so lucky to know Miss Mari. 

She came to Mesa Union in a wave of light and joy. Her positivity was infectious and I remember the care she put into her work with children. Her consciousness and graceful manner with adults and children alike as was beautiful to behold as her carefully constructed decorations that celebrated literacy and drew us all in. 

My warmest thoughts are with her family and my deepest wish is that her echoes of kindness and positivity soothe the tremendous heartache that we all feel right now.
