October 24, 1938 – May 27, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Mary Cristina Trujillo, who peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. After spending several months in the comfort of her home under hospice care, Mary was called to her heavenly home, where she began her new life with the Lord.
Mary was born on October 24, 1938, in Monterrey, Mexico. As a child, she traveled throughout the United States with her family, living in Florida, Michigan, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Ohio. These experiences helped shape her warm, resilient spirit and love for people. Later, her family settled in Somerton, Arizona, where she met the love of her life, Clemente Trujillo. Together they built a beautiful life and eventually made their home in Oxnard, California, where they raised their family and created countless cherished memories.
Mary's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her love knew no limits, and she dedicated her life to caring for those she held dear. Her home was always filled with warmth, creativity, laughter, and the comforting presence of someone who made everyone feel welcome and loved.
Mary had a deep appreciation for beauty and creativity. She was an avid reader and gardener who found joy in nurturing both plants and people. A gifted artist at heart, she loved painting, photography, sewing, ceramics, pottery, and collecting miniature treasures. She especially treasured the time spent teaching arts and crafts to her grandchildren, passing along not only her talents but also her patience, imagination, and love. Mary was also a faithful fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and enjoyed many happy hours cheering for her favorite team.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Clemente Trujillo; her daughters, Marisa (Rigo) Martinez, Sandy Trujillo of Ventura, and Velinda Trujillo of Oxnard.
She was a cherished grandmother to David, Junior, and Victor Martinez of Oxnard; Mario, Sandy, and Nico Castro of Ventura; and Bianca Trujillo of Oxnard.
Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mathew Clemente, Vincestina, and Zoey Mary Martinez, and her precious great-great-grandson, Santos Ramirez, born on May 31, 2026, a beautiful reminder that life and love continue through future generations.
Mary is also survived by her loving siblings: Alfonso (Terry) Duran of Yuma, Arizona; Robert (Rosie) Duran of Yuma, Arizona; Ernest Duran of Duluth, Georgia; Henry Jr. (Diane) Duran of Yuma, Arizona; and Patricia Duran of Monterrey, Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Henry R. Duran and Amelia Duran; her treasured grandson, Vincent Martinez; her nephew, Alfonso Duran Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona; and her brothers, Ruben Duran of Manteca, California, and Frank Duran of San Bernardino, California.
Mary will be remembered for her gentle heart, creative spirit, unwavering faith, and the endless love she shared with her family and friends. She taught those around her the importance of kindness, patience, and finding joy in life's simple moments. Though she will be deeply missed, her love remains forever woven into the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary Star of the Sea Church on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at Santa Clara Cemetery.
"A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Mary's greatest masterpiece was the family she loved so deeply. Her memory will forever be a blessing and her love a guiding light in our lives." ❤️
