Dad was born July 18, 1938 in Oxnard, CA. While growing up in Oxnard he met and married Velia Villegas. They were in love for 70+ years and married 69 of those years. During that time, they spent their lives raising their four children. While raising their family Robert worked for the Hueneme School District as a bus driver for 33 years. He was truly dedicated to his job up until the time of his retirement in 1993. In 33 years, he picked up and dropped safely without incident, around 324,000 students, so much so, that the Highway Patrol awarded him with an Outstanding Service Commendation for Excellence in Driving safety. Today those kids are adults, with most having kids of their own.
Robert loved spending time with his family, while they were growing up, they enjoyed camping, especially at Yosemite and Lake Taho, they also enjoyed going to Sacramento to spend time with family and friends. Dad would do anything and everything for his children. While working part-time at Turf Liquor, Bob on Fridays would stop by Buddy Burgers and pick up goodies like chili dogs and chili burgers for his kids, who were all anxiously waiting for him to come home that evening.
As time went on, he was blessed to have grandkids, great grandkids he truly enjoyed spending time with them. There was no one kinder and gentler than Boboo, he will always be remembered for his smile, kind spirit and endless love for each and every one of the grandkids and great grandkids.
