On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, the Trias family lost a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Wilfrido “Willy” Trias was born in Tanza, Cavite, Philippines in 1946. He graduated from Tanza High School and received his bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from Far East University. In 1967, Willy joined the United States Navy where he would go on to complete a 21-year career as an aircraft mechanic and obtained the ranking of Chief. After retirement from military service, he worked civil service at Naval Air Station Point Mugu for 5 years, and as a Navy contractor for Global Pcci.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Willy. He had a passion for outdoor recreational activities such as camping, hunting, fishing, basketball, bowling, and tennis. He loved animals and owned a variety of birds including geese and chickens. He also loved playing the guitar, singing, and DJ’ing for parties. His pleasant and outgoing personality was contagious to everyone he met. He was an active member of several associations such as the Cavitenos, Sweet Family, Biyak Biyak, Simbang Gabi, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Novena.

Family members and friends are invited to join the Trias family on March 3, 2021 between 12-4pm for the viewing at the Funeraria Del Angel Funeral Home at 401 West Channel Islands Boulevard, Oxnard, CA 93033. We called them uncle Willy, uncle Orly and uncle Lito, the three of them were renting the apartment. My parents were the one who’s managing the apartment. They were stationed in the Philippines 🇵🇭 in Olongapo City during the 70’s. I was only 5 years old. They called my parents Ate Hilda and Kuya Jerry. I’m not sure how uncle Willy always finds us because we keep moving to different places but he always managed to find us. I guess it’s called the “bond” between my parents and uncle Willy.

I remembered He had an old Mustang and he would take us to the beach, there were 5 of us. And my sister Menchie asked him what happened to the old Mustang and he said it’s in Cavite.

Last time I talked to uncle Willy on Thanksgiving Day, he called me and I gave it to my husband Sean so they can talk. He even invited us to spend weekends in Oxnard.
My deepest sympathy for your loss Tita Susan and the Trias Family. 🙏🏻❤️ I hope you received the flowers I sent you 💐

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall comforted. - Matthew 5:4

Willie, just like me, was an outdoor enthusiast who loved fishing, hunting, camping, doing car repairs, etc. He is really one of a kind, a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
A very unselfish man that he was, Willie always have something to give and share.
I will miss those precious memories we spent together especially our hunting and fishing trips, our singing the Beatles songs in the campsite, and sharing stories.
I lost a great friend. Your memories will remain in my heart forever. Willie Rest In Peace , till we meet again..

Willy is a good friend. We had good times together fishing and hunting birds in Pt. Mugu Naval Base.

Willy, you will not be forgotten. Rest In Peace, my friend.
