

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hill officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Elizabeth Flossie was the daughter of the late William and Icie Pitts Greene. She lived her life for the special day when God would call her home. “Miss Flossie” taught Sunday School for many years at Pinehurst Baptist Church in Columbus, Ga. until she and her late husband, Joseph David moved to Ozark, AL to be closer to their children. She was a bookkeeper for many years and taught a class at Columbus College. “Miss Flossie” was a very talented lady who was a seamstress, made beautiful cakes and loved to cook and write. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Stars, Ft. Benning Chapter where she served as Worthy Matron three times and fulfilled many other duties.
Mrs. David is preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and one sister.
She leaves to cherish her memories four children; Roland Wilson (Mary) of Columbia, SC, Joseph David of Dothan, AL, Emily Thompson (Don) of Pansey, AL and Faye Brock (Benny) of Ozark, AL., grandchildren; Rolanda Goree (Ron), Robin Wilson (Mark), Kelley South (James), Barbara Corneluis (Mike) and Kenny Thompson (Tifany); five great-grandchildren; Emily Goree, Brock Goree, Madison Thompson, Mason Thompson and Shayla Goree.
The family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Dale Medical Center 2nd floor, for the care she received and to hospice, we have grown to love and a very special thanks to our cousins Randal and Cindy Hurston who helped our family beyond measure.
