

Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his parents, Cas and Mae Thompson of Skipperville; a brother, Rudolph Thompson; a sister, Katherine Verhoeff; a grandson, Michael Donald Kroger.
He is survived by one son, Adam Greg Thompson; a grand-daughter, Brittany Thompson and her mother, Dawn Gill Densel, all of Ozark; one aunt, Velma Tharpe Dickerson of Ozark; a brother, Delbert Thompson and his wife Brenda of Skipperville; his sisters, Judy Turner and her husband Calvin of Opelika and Katie McCall of Georgia; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Thompson received a degree in agriculture in June, 1950. He graduated from Wallace College in 1962 with a Senior Accounting Degree. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he received two Purple Hearts as well as the Bronze Star. Mr. Thompson was a member of the USAAMC Diving with Dolphins Association. He donated to several charities in his lifetime that included The Children’s Hospital, Humane Society, Salvation Army, United Way and March of Dimes. Mr. Thompson was an avid Fisherman. He loved to garden and especially loved children and animals. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 from the Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home chapel at 2:00p.m. with Brother Tom Skeen officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 3:00 until 5:00p.m.
Pallbearers will be Fred Densel, Zac Bradley, Brian Turner, Stephen Ammons, Wes Strickland and Bobby Syples.
