

Funeral services will be at 10:00am, Saturday, August 3, 2013, in the chapel at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Reverend Benji Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home Friday, August 2.
Mrs. Payne was born January 3, 1926 in Graceville, Florida to Reverend B.F. and Pearlie Lowry. She was the wife of Judge Payne who predeceased her. Mrs. Payne was a member of Newton Baptist Church and also a member of the church choir. She dearly loved her church family and church. Maw was a wonderful loving mother, sister and grandmother. She loved collecting lighthouses, growing African Violets and feeding humming birds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Jodie Lynn Payne Parker; brothers, Charles Lowry, Jack Lowry, B. Lowry; sisters, Ouida Lowry Hall, Billie Lowry Bickham and nephews, Jeff and Justin Lowry.
Mrs. Payne is survived by a son, Kenneth Payne (Laurie); a daughter, Judith Ann McDuffie (Walt); grandchildren, Scotty Payne (Kerri), Lee Childree and Ashley Childree; great-grandchildren, Preston Payne, Jada Payne, Bradley Parker, Kaylee Childree, Riley Childree and Chapman Childree. Also surviving is a great-great-grandson, Axel Payne.
