Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Woodlawn Memory Gardens in Ozark with Rev. Barry Clark officiating and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

Mrs. Root was born April 8, 1929 in Pensacola, FL to Myron and Addie Brewton Baggett. As a military wife, she spent most of her life taking care of her family.

Mrs. Root was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Carl G. Root; and her daughter, Patricia D. Root.

She is survived by her sons, Carl E. Root (Jan) of Summerfield, FL, and John L. Root of Pensacola, FL; her daughters, Carol R. Parson of New York, NY, and Kathryn A. Asodi (Mike) of Ozark; her grandchildren, Allison Morgan, Colin Root, Carla Root and Victoria Asodi; also surviving is her great-granddaughter, Sheridan Morgan.
