

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, in the chapel at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Reverends Tommy West and Harold Peters officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chalkhead Baptist Church, 495 County Rd. 35, Ozark, AL. 36360 or to Vivian B. Adams School, 2047 Stuart Tarter Rd., Ozark, AL. 36360.
Mr. Johns was born in Dale County to Charlie Clayborn Johns and Lummie Lou Davis Johns on September 29, 1926. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, Korean and Vietnam wars and retired in 1971. Mr. Johns was a member of Chalkhead Baptist Church and he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Grace Johns; his sisters, Hazel Morris, Gladys Herring and Shirley Spurlock; his brothers, Ross Johns and Max “Jack” Johns.
Mr. Johns is survived by his sisters, Dale (Pete) Spivey of Ozark, Betty (Billy) Rogers of Ozark, Pat Johnson of Tampa, Fla., Charlene Roberts of Albany, Ga., and Dorothy Johnson of Skipperville; his brother, J.J. (Jeanette) Johns of Ozark; also surviving is his step-granddaughter, Tina Gray of Warner Robbins, Ga.
