

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, August 19, 2012 from the Family Life Center of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark with Rev. Dr. Christian Eckert and Rev. Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Born in Andalusia, Alabama, Sandra moved to Opp at age 5 and graduated from Opp High School. Upon completing her Master’s in Education from the University of Alabama, she taught school in Gordo and Birmingham, Alabama and Augusta, Georgia before moving to Ozark in 1969. She worked briefly for Enterprise State Junior College as director of the Ozark Branch and Coordinator of the Women’s Program. She returned to school to obtain a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University in 1983, having completed an internship at the Veteran’s Administration in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mrs. Cline was employed by Wiregrass Mental Health (Spectra Care) for eight years before entering private practice in 1992. She was also clinical director at Pathway, Inc. for several years. She then had a limited practice in Ozark until 1992. Working part-time, she consulted with Vocational Rehabilitation Services from 1993 until 2012.
Mrs. Cline was active in the First United Methodist Church in Ozark, teaching the Kells Carroll and Seekers Sunday School classes and serving in various offices of the Suzanne Johnson Circle. She was a certified lay speaker and taught several Bible study courses. She was a charter member of the Alzheimer’s Association, serving as Vice-President and a member of the advisory board.
Active pallbearers will be members of the Seekers Sunday School Class. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Suzanne Johnson Circle.
Mrs. Cline was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Maggie Ellison of Opp, Alabama.
Mrs. Cline is survived by her husband, Richard W. Cline (CW4 Ret.); two sons, Dr. Lee Smith of Valdosta, Georgia and Brett M. Smith (Melita) of Ozark; two step-daughters, Debra (Roger) Knauff of Millbrook and Renee Cline of Dothan; and six grandchildren: Sydney, Camden, and Grayson Smith of Valdosta and Shelby and Maggie Smith and Wade Baldwin of Ozark.
