Sara Jo Sexton

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May, 3, 2014 at Ozark Church of Christ with Raymond Elliot and Todd Storks officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Friday, May 2, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sexton was born May 31, 1935 in Talladega to Bud and Mabel Marie Sims Waites. She was Queen Mother of the Ozark Chapter Red Hat Society and loved traveling and her antique junkin excursions. Mrs. Sexton was a retired RN and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John D. Sexton and daughter-in-law, Aynur Sexton.

Mrs. Sexton is survived by her four sons and their wives, John Harbon and Wendy Sexton of Enterprise, William Jack Sexton of Washington, D.C., Joe and Phyllis Sexton of Ozark, Jeffrey Sexton of Ariton and Fiancé, Tracey O’Quinn; her sisters and their husbands, Betty and Herbert Norred of Alexander City, Jackie and Tommy Bishop of Talladega; her brothers and their wives, W.A. and Marie Waites of Talladega, Jerry and Barbara Waites of Childersburg; also surviving are her six grand-Children and eight Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Sexton, Jack Sexton, Joe Sexton, Jeff Sexton, Zack Sexton and Jason Sexton. Alternate pallbearers will be Bobby Motes and Michael Clark.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Ozark Chapter Red Hat Society.
