

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to charity of your choice.
Mrs. Alexander was born February 15, 1935 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany. She married the love of her life, Alex, on March 20, 1954 and together they had four beautiful daughters. Being a military wife, she and Alex called many cities home. Between 1954-1969, they lived in Ft. Smith, AR, Verona, Italy, Newton, AL and Kaiserslautern, Germany. In 1969 they moved back to Ozark where she lived the remainder of her life.
Mrs. Alexander loved traveling, gardening and the outdoors. She was an excellent seamstress and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. However, her family was her greatest joy. She was very family oriented and was known for hosting many family celebrations. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Anna Albrecht.
Survivors include her husband, James Alexander of Ozark; her four daughters, Charlotte VanTrease of Ozark, Patricia Ballance (David) of Harvest, AL, Rebecca Merritt (Tom) of Headland, AL and Stefanie Parker (Phillip) of Black, AL; 13 grandchildren, Robert VanTrease (Sarah), Robin Bundy (Steven), Kerri Ballance, Kristina Corbin (Mark), Brian Corbin, David Merritt, Ashley Wright (Travis), Tyler Merritt, Kevin Parker and Kyle Parker; 13 great grandchildren; two sisters, Anneliese Klumb (Fritz) of Rüdesheim, Germany and Rosemary McKenzie of Conway, AR; and one brother, Hans Albrecht (Ursula) of Tiefenbach, Germany.
