Ada Frances Sanders Chandler, age 98 of Paris, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025, at her residence. Her funeral service will be at McEvoy Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 11th with Kevin Gallimore officiating. Visitation will be after 11:00 am on Friday, July 11th prior to the service at McEvoy Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Fountainhead Cemetery in Palm Bay, FL.
Ada Frances Chandler was born November 20, 1926, in Huntingdon, TN, to the late Robert and Cora Hooten Sanders. She married Keith Edsel on April 2, 1944, and he preceded her in death on December 17, 1989.
Ada Frances was married to a military man and, with her family, enjoyed many travels across the United States as well as Mexico and Canada. In addition, the family lived in Germany for a time and from there enjoyed travel throughout Germany, Austria, Italy, and northern Africa. In her later years, she was able to travel to Hawaii and Australia. She lived in California with her daughter from approximately 2004 until they relocated back to Tennessee in 2015, settling in Paris. She probably would not admit it, but she did enjoy many "misadventures" here and there, or as we called them, "little adventures" up until the end, including her daughter detouring her to the wrong funeral home. Ada loved playing bingo, poker, reading, and other games on her Kindle. Most of all, she loved her family very much and always looked forward to seeing them. She was quite spoiled in her later years and usually got what she wanted, as well she should at 98 years young. Ada will be terribly missed and has left a huge vacant spot in our hearts. She rarely met anyone she didn't care for, and most people wanted to take her home with them. She truly was an angel here on earth.
Ms. Chandler is survived by three daughters: Cheryl (Denny) McShane of Springfield, IL, Deberah Rino of Paris, and Pamela Chandler of Palm Bay, FL; sister, Margerie Davenport of Decatur, AL; nine grandchildren: Mindy McShane, Michael McShane, Lenny Billick, Shana (Aaron) Dwyer, Alicia Billick, Melanie O’Neal, Tennille Collins, Rhea (Mike) Coyne, and Leslie Yoho; great-grandchildren: Logan Baxley, Declan Fowler, Cadence Coyne, Hunter (Brittany) O'Neal, Connor O'Neal, Sierra Mauldin, Rc (Megan), Kristin, Alicia, Jake, Lanie, Layla, Lily, Owen, Aiden, and Ava; and great-great-grandchildren: Chloe, Robrielle, Devonte Jr, Madelyn, Patrick, Leonidas, Dauphne, William, and Mason.
Besides her parents and husband, Ms. Chandler was also preceded in death by two daughters: Diana Fowler and Charlotte Oldham; four sisters: Genora Cloar, Gladys Lankford, Beatrice Roberts, and Orville Nanney; two brothers: Kenneth Sanders and Bobby Sanders; and a granddaughter, Lauren LeFavor.
A committal for Ada will be held Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock St SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909.
