Agnes Anna Bove, 83, a resident of Barefoot Bay, Florida for 20 years, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida. She was the loving wife of Salvatore Bove. They shared 65 wonderful years of marriage together.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of John Frank Burro and Grace Marie Morante. She exceled at several different careers in her lifetime. She started out as a machine operator fabricating cans at American Can. Then she took some time off to raise her two sons, John and Michael. Once her children were old enough to fend for themselves, she went back to work as an engraver of numbering wheels, used in printing machines bought by the US and other governments and banks to stamp serial numbers on financial instruments such as checks and cash. Her final years of employment were spent as a floral assembler.
Agnes was an active parishioner of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Micco, Florida. She was an avid member of the choir; you could always count on her to be at the church on Wednesdays and Sundays singing her heart out. She also partook in the church’s craft and card clubs. Texas Hold’em and Five Crowns were two of her favorite card games. When not at church or off spending time with her church family, she enjoyed relaxing at home watching television and spending time with her husband, Sal.
She is survived by her husband, Sal; her two sons, John of Myrtle Beach South Carolina and Michael of Easton, Pennsylvania; two granddaughters, Sharlene and Faith; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by both of her parents and her brother, Martin.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909. A brief final viewing will take place at the funeral home the next day, Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. At 1:00 pm, there will be a funeral mass at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 5055 Micco Road, Barefoot Bay, Florida 32967.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
