Celebrating the life of Alva Mae Dietrich Boileau (03-24-1927 – 11-24-2014) Alva Mae Dietrich Boileau departed this life for her eternal resting place Monday, November 24, 2014. Alva was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, the only child to Alvin and Philomene Dietrich. Alva Mae attended High School at Holy Angles Academy and college at LSU in New Orleans – the place she always considered home. Her last visit to the city was in March 2007.
After her years in college she met and married George Edward Boileau on May 28, 1949. The couple with their children moved to Eau Gallie, Florida in 1961 where she resided for more than 53-years.
Alva Mae was active in the North Eau Gallie Civic Association and was a founding member of the Lilliput Players – an amateur group of puppeteers who performed puppet shows to raise money to build a community center in Eau Gallie. The group was active from 1967 to 1972 and performed at area libraries, private birthday parties, company Christmas parties, organizational meeting, and various holiday gatherings. She provided the music, wrote the scripts, and made the puppets for the more than a dozen original puppet shows in addition to setting-up the stage and performing during the shows. She was also an avid doll collector, substitute school teacher, family historian, and wonderful, warm, and caring mother.
She was preceded in death by parents; Alvin Charles Dietrich & Philomene Elise Ortte Dietrich, husband George Edward Boileau, Sr., and infant son Charles Richard Boileau. Alva Mae is survived by children; Lynda Lee Boileau [Michael Carl LaTulippe, 1949-2014] of South Burlington, Vermont; Edward Alvin “Al” Boileau [Jan Frances Lyngaas], of Palm Bay, Florida; George Edward Boileau, Jr. [Mandy Christine Hodge], of Gilbert, Arizona; Scott Lawrence Boileau of Vero Beach, Florida; and Craig Patrick Boileau of Melbourne, Florida. She will be interned in Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, New Orleans, Louisiana where she’ll spend eternity with her husband, infant child, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family members as they lie in perpetuity. Just as each one before her; she will be sorely missed by those left behind, and it’s with all our love that we bid her farewell and wait to join her for all time. We love you mom…
