Annette was born on May 17, 1950 in Plainfield, New Jersey. First child of Elaine (Kapralik) and William
Steinberg. At an early age, Annette moved with her mother and father to Miami, Florida. She grew up
the “big sister” to Susan (Steinberg) Hopkins, teaching her all the things that a big sister should.
August 9, 1970, was probably the happiest day of her life. Her son, Bryan Geoffrey Stimpson was born.
Having raised him mostly on her own, they were inseparable. She was that “soccer mom” who fiercely
supported and never missed one of his games.
An avid reader, Annette loved the library. She spent hours and hours researching anything and
everything. She graduated from Florida International University with a degree in Computer Science;
later moving with her son Bryan to Melbourne to work for Harris Corporation as an Engineer. Annette
has called Melbourne home ever since.
In 1991, Annette met the “love of her life”, Frank Louisell, Jr. while they were both volunteering at the
Daily Bread. He affectionately called her “Sweet Baby Nesh.” They shared so much love and laughter,
as well as comforted each other. On July 11, 1994, Annette’s precious, adored and only child Bryan was
killed, the worse day of her life. Frank, was right by her side to help wipe away those tears.
Annette was a lover of animals and cherished her pets, Blackie and Jet (Skiperkies), which were more
like her children. She had so much patience when it came to training animals. She taught Jet how to
play the little toy piano, talk, as well as many other tricks. If you saw Annette, Jet was usually right by
her side. They took long walks around the lake by her house.
Annette was committed to making a difference in the world. She was a community activist, involved
in many organizations. She sat on the Citizens Advisory Board of the City of Melbourne. She was a
member of the ACLU as well as a member of the League of Women Voters. She stayed inform in many
areas.
Annette passed away on May 18, 2011 at Holmes Regional Hospital, surrounded by the love of her
family. She is survived by her mother, sister, nephew and fiancé, as well as her favorite Uncle David and
Cousins Leigh and Jill.
Annette leaves behind her a legacy of lifelong friendships and cherished memories. Everyone whose
lives she touched will dearly remember Annette Lynn Steinberg Stimpson with love and affection.
