He was born to Dean and Oneida (Wilkerson) Dawson on May 17, 1945 in Princeton, lndiana.
Art was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star. He served his country for 12 years, completing two tours of duty in Vietnam. His final rank in the Army was E-6.
He owned and operated Art Dawson Commercial Lawn and Landscaping.
Art was a #1 Braves Fan. He loved riding his Harley and listening to and playing music.
He was a loving husband to Wavelea Dawson; loving father to Susan Umberger, Ann Gettle, Tom James and Nancy Henwood; loving grandfather to 14; and loving great grandfather to 19.
A visitation will be held 2-3PM followed by a Celebration of Art’s life at 3PM on Friday March 13, 2015 at Fountainhead Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
