Roy was born in Coleyville, Manchester, Jamaica, the son of Gilbert Dennis Hall and Florence Roberta Blake. He was the 11th of 13 children and the last of his siblings to pass.
He worked on the family plantation and had an opportunity to attend college in Kingston. It was not for him and he joined his brothers and other family members in a shoe making factory.
In 1952 he set sail for England at the encouragement of his older brother Walter Hall. In time he was introduced to Marjorie, a newly arrived fellow Jamaican, and it was love at first sight. They married in 1960 and their son Andrew was born in 1963. Roy also took on the responsibility of raising David and Pauline.
After rising through the ranks in National Coal Board head office in London, Roy took early retirement to bring his ailing wife to sunnier times and they came to Florida in 1988. He was thrilled to become an American Citizen.
He is survived by his 3 children, Andrew and his wife Ann, David and his wife Wendy and Pauline, His grandchildren Adrian, Matthew, Laura, Courtney, Briony, Lindsay and Michael and 4 great grandchildren.
The funeral Service will he held on Monday 13th of September 2021 at West Melbourne Seventh Day Adventist Church at 10:30 a.m. with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. with the internment following at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
