Bette Lucille Houser Curry, 97, passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2018. She was the widow of James Orvis Curry. They shared 67 wonderful years of marriage together before he joined the Lord in June of 2009.
Born in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of James Alfred Houser and Lucia Camille LeGrand. Bette graduated from Clearfield High School in 1938 and then pursued a career as a telephone operator at Bell of Pennsylvania. She then joined the firm of Hembolt & Stewart Insurance Company as a bookkeeper.
Bette was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts and sewing, but will be mostly remembered for her handmade beanie caps for the newborn children at Holmes Regional Nursery and love of family.
Bette is survived by daughter Betsy Lou Curry, daughter Debra Suzanne Curry-Bell, son-in-law Gregory Kirk Bell, grandson Richard James Kaiser II, granddaughter Dawn Marie Kaiser, and grandson Tyler Davis Bell.
The memorial service will be held on September 29, 2018, at 12:30 pm at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street, SE in Palm Bay, Florida, 32909. Receiving of friends will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
