Betty was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on September 2, 1930, and spent her childhood at beautiful Otter Lake. After finishing college, she moved to the hollers of Kentucky to teach first through eighth grade students in a one-room schoolhouse at Wolf Creek. Married to George “Bud” Campbell in 1950, she relocated to Melbourne with her family in January 1954. Employed by Nokia in Melbourne, Betty retired in 1998 to spend more time with her children and grandchildren and to shout and cheer for her Orlando Magic.
Betty is survived by her brother Earl (June) Fryklind of Muncy, PA; her children George (Sue) Campbell, Jeff (Sherri) Campbell, and Carol McAlpin of Melbourne, FL, and Robert (Paul) Campbell of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her best four-legged buddy Leo.
A memorial celebration in honor of Betty’s life will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 1pm at Fountainhead Funeral Home at 7359 Babcock Street SE in Palm Bay.
Betty never missed an opportunity to stop and smell the flowers. In honor of Betty’s love of life’s beauty, her family welcomes flower donations.
