She was predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Delmore and her brother Robert (Bob) Gangraw. She is survived by three children, Gwen Milam (Keith), John Blounts, Jr, and Michelle Foote (Eric) along with her younger brother William (Bill) Gangraw.
Some of our fondest childhood memories include the times we went ice skating (all bundled up) and the 4th of July Celebrations at Dean Park. She played on a bowling league for several years. She even played soft ball in her bare feet! Mom was a ringer and hit a lot of home runs. We were so busy back then with dancing, football and baseball. She always made our birthdays so special with hand crafted cakes in the shapes of a dog, a pink elephant, baseballs, and even a Coo Coo bird!
Mom was a certified tailor, crocheted and knitted. She created clothes, Gwen’s Wedding dress, Barbie doll clothes and all of our Halloween costumes each year. She was one of the original Avon ladies and won numerous awards. Gwen and Michelle loved helping her package and deliver her products. It was so much fun trying out all the new samples.
Later, when we moved to Florida, family days were spent at the beach, the flea market, or boating, digging for clams, and crabbing.
Some of her proudest accomplishments included her hard work starting Project Graduation at Eau Gallie High School in 1987 and graduating from Northeastern University with her Paralegal Certificate. She was a member of Toastmasters and worked for many years in the legal department as an executive assistant at Boston Mutual Life Insurance.
Bonnie was so proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews very much. She enjoyed traveling, walking on the beach, and spend time with her little dog Beau prior to his passing. She had a love of learning; she studied French, ballroom dancing, and even self-defense at UNC Asheville
Bonnie was an active member of the VFW in Melbourne, FL where she made so many friends. She always chatted fondly about her daily visits from her neighbors and their four legged friends.
Mom was a strong, confident woman who was not afraid of voicing her opinions. She took charge of her life and family when necessary. Her spirit will live on through her family, friends and loved ones. We will always love and miss her so much.
