Charles proudly retired as a Quartermaster Chief Petty Officer from the United States Coast Guard after 20 years of service. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking projects, playing cards, caring for his lawn and looking after the many feral cats who visited regularly.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife of 30 years Roeretta Ann Bass, his granddaughter Noeli Mills and his parents Lawrence and Bonnie Mills.
He is survived by his wife of 81/2 years Phyllis Mills, his sons Michael (Stephanie) Mills of Bradenton, FL, Larry Mills of Beaverton, OR, step-son Joseph Manuel, and his sisters Mary (Hayward) Little and Bobbie (James) Ackles, and multiple nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 2:00pm at Fountainhead Funeral Home.
