Cheryl was born in 1956 in Fort Pierce, Florida to Bill (William) and Elsie Welder. She grew up with her younger sister, Barbara. As a child and adolescent, Cheryl was very involved with sewing and craft making, frequently attending and participating in craft shows. She also loved to go fishing with her father. Cheryl attended and graduated from Melbourne High School. Following high school, she began working for the Bank of Melbourne and Trust Company. She then went on to continue her banking career at Florida Federal Bank and Indian River Federal Bank. After banking, Cheryl began working in retail at Toys R’ Us and continued in retail at Old Time Pottery before she changed careers. In 2019, she began her career as an administrative coordinator for Healthy Start and Lifetime Counseling Center.
When Cheryl was 20, she married Richard Cervola and went on to have 2 daughters, Amy Camilo, and Laurie Carter (Clarence). After divorcing, Cheryl devoted her time to her children and grandchildren. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren to include Alyssa, Abriana, Alayna, Rayana, Kaylee, and Matthew. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren with yearly trips to Disney World. Cheryl had a love for Disney and the magic the parks and resorts brought to her and her family. She also enjoyed taking her grandchildren to many family reunions in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. It was important to her that her children and grandchildren understood their family heritage across many generations.
Cheryl is survived by her daughters and grandchildren. She is predeceased in passing by her father Bill (William), mother Elsie, sister Barbara, and former husband Richard.
