Chris always made me feel so welcome at The Colony Hotel.  A consummate host!  I will miss his relaxing presence there.

Worked with Chris at the Charleston Marriott and I must say it was a trip. Always a smile. RIP Chris !

Chris hired my sons, Travis and Austin and myself during summers to work for him at Berry Hills CC in Charleston, WV. He became a very special part of our family and we have remained close friends for the past ten years. He taught us how to enjoy everything to the fullest and made everyone feel special. We will miss him very, very much but God must have needed an angel because he was an amazing loving person and I hope and pray to see him again some day in heaven.

Chris was a friend to so many people.  I have always found it difficult to have so many friends at once, but he made it look simple, seamless and always smiling.  A loving spirit and a true gift to us all.  I will miss him greatly.

Chris was one of the nicest people I know.  Donna and I spent some great times with him in Florida and will miss him greatly.  It's so sad when the really great ones leave us.

We met Chris through his mother, Pat ("Patsy") Whalen.  What a loving and devoted son!  And what fun we all had with Chris!  His passing reminds each of us of life's fragility and the importance of seizing each day.

Dear Uncle, I want to start by thanking you for everything you have done for me. I cherish every memory with you. Most of all our east coast drive all the way to Florida, where you welcomed me into your home. We shared so many laughs together, and so many great trips. How you would call me your chauffeur while I drove you all around the state of Florida. I will think of you every time my toes are in the sand while I'm watching the waves crash on the beach during a sunny day. You always reminded me how it was your favorite place in the world. You told me I taught you want unconditional love was, and I just want you to know you did the same for me. I love you Uncle, you will always be in my heart.

Went for a run/ walk/ cry session this morning dear brother.  Every song reminded me of you.  Thank you for all the joy you brought to this family.  Thank you for everything you have done for Dylan and me.  Dave, Dylan, and I treasure the time we have spent with you.  We can all aspire to live our lives out loud like you did.  You will always be with us.  All is well.

I was so sorry to read Chris's obituary in the paper today.  Chris hired me back in 1988 at the Marriott here in Charleston.  What a sweet, funny, and caring guy.  After he went to work at Berry Hills, we used to see each other each year at an annual event I attended.  Whenever we met, it was like no time had passed whatsoever - he was as gracious and charming as always and greeted me by name with a hug and a smile.  He will have a special place in my heart and in my memory.

My Hollywood.... Chris will be greatly missed... that smile.... that sense of humor.... a huge void is left... Prayers of peace for all his family and friends.... Love you Hollywood!!

Our family will miss Chris deeply.  What a loss to all. His positive and lovely outlook on life is something we will always remember.  We will always smile when we remember him.

Chris was a wonderful, caring and generous person.  He cared for my sister, Barry's wife, Arlene, for 6 weeks before she passed away, always helpful and willingly doing what was needed at just the right time.  What a loss to all of us.  He will be sorely missed.

I met Chris many years ago while working at Mariiott  in Charleston. We became good friends and  he was always good to me. We had some fun times and although we hadn't seen each other in years he will always have a special place in my heart. Rest in peace my friend.

Chris and I grew up in the same neighborhood Seilcrest Acres. We rode the school bus together from 2nd till almost 12th grade. Spent many days riding bikes, swimming, listening to records in his basement. His Mom was my confirmation sponsor. WOW! 2 years ago, he and Patsy visited me in Indy, hadn't seen him in 30 years or so ~ Good Times!!! We stayed connected on Facebook over the years. Prayers to Pat, Barry, and Mike Whalen.
