Cornel Anthony Chambers was born on November 2, 1963 in Kingston, Jamaica. He was the son of Winnifred and Cornel Silvera Chambers and was preceded in death by his mother in 2015. At the age of seven, Cornel along with his two brothers Oral and Conrad (Sam), moved to the United States to be with his parents who had moved to the United States early on. Later, his youngest brother Donald (Danny) was born.
Cornel was educated in Baltimore County schools in Woodlawn, Maryland. He attended Woodmoor Elementary School, Woodlawn Middle School and was a graduate of Milford Mill Senior High School class of 1982. Cornel also attended trade school where he achieved certificates in automotive and technical engineering. He also attended school for computer repair and maintenance. Cornel took on a variety of jobs; from car mechanic to truck driving and had even took an interest at one point in becoming a Maryland State Trooper.
Cornel was always a kid at heart and had a smile that would brighten up a room, he had many hobbies such as fixing up cars, race car driving, going to car shows, watching cartoons and always looked forward to going out with his children and his brothers to go to the movies to watch the latest DC or Marvel comics being released in theaters. Cornel had a huge passion for cars, his greatest achievement and pastime was building his dream car. For the past ten years, Cornel spent a lot of time in the garage of his home building a yellow 1999 Lamborghini Diablo or as he would always call it his “ Lambo.” Beautifully built and hand crafted from scratch by Cornel himself, his dream car the Lambo was a huge head turner whenever he would drive it. Building and finally completing his Lambo was a huge accomplishment for
Cornel and he would always pride himself talking about his dream car.
In Cornel's early thirties, he began attending the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and was studying the Bible in hopes of being baptized. Cornel was very loyal to his faith and deeply passionate toward the brothers and sisters of the Kingdom Hall. Although his shyness got the best of him and prevented him from speaking most of the time, at the Kingdom Hall, he was always in attendance every Sunday.
Years ago, after spending most of his life in Maryland, Cornel decided to move to Florida “The Sunshine State” along with his family. Cornel was not very fond of the cold weather up North but loved being in the sunshine state surrounded by beaches.
Some might consider Cornel to be shy, very friendly, but also outgoing, and would always make you feel welcomed whenever you would visit his home. When he finally said, “I’m tired”, he turned to the Lord holding onto the promises found at John 5:28 and Revelations 21:4 when death will be no more, and he will be reunited with his family.
