Daisy Pearl Khan was born in Saint Ann, Jamaica on September 16, 1932. She was the only child of the late Maud Johnson and Reginal Russell. Daisy attended her primary and High School education in Kingston, Jamaica.
On November 12, 1954 Daisy Pearl Russell married Clinton Alfonso Khan of Kingston, Jamaica. From their union they were blessed with seven beautiful children. In 1954, Daisy and Clinton left Jamaica and relocated to the United Kingdom in pursuit of a better life. After living for several years in the United Kingdom, Clinton and Daisy made the journey to the United States, making Mount Vernon, New York their home for many years. Daisy went on to pursue a rewarding career as a Medical Nursing Assistant until she retired due to an illness. After which, she and Clinton moved to Miami, Florida then eventually to Palm Bay, Florida.
For many years Daisy was a member of the following: Palm Bay's Seventh Advent Church, Palm Bay Salvation Army, and the Union 1199. Daisy's love for cooking West Indian dishes for her family was evident in the meals she prepared. Given the opportunity to be a contestant on the popular competitive cooking show "Chopped", Daisy would have been the winning contestant….hands down. Daisy's other interest were watching classical comedy shows such as I Love Lucy, Sanford and Son, and The Honeymooners. Daisy also had a passion for gardening and tending to her houseplants.
Daisy is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Clinton and her daughter, Yasmin. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her children: Carol, Claudette, Michael, Richard, Dennis, and David; 16 grandchildren: Natasha, Kimberly, Christopher, Andrew, Su-Zann, Michael, Alphanso, Shakira, Mark, Rhea, Nisa, Aisha, Shauna, Nikia, Niya, and Najee; 16 great-grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends; and a special childhood friend from grade school, Mrs. Luna Mowett, who was always there for Daisy.
