Dale R. Johnson, passed away December 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Dale was born in Maulden Massachusetts and spent time in Bennington, Vermont, Keen, New Hampshire, Summerland Key, Florida, and Liberty, South Carolina, before moving to the Space Coast of Florida. He is the beloved husband of Joan Johnson for 58 years; a devoted father to Jill Johnson and Dale S. Johnson; a loving Grandpa to Aaron and Olivia Gassett, Abigail and Lauren Hall; and dear brother of Janet Reid-Howe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dale was a loving, caring, and thoughtful man. He was a Mayflower pilgrim descendent and a Master Captain. Dale was an avid fisherman, hunter, reader, dog lover, gardener and lifelong tinkerer; he could fix anything engineering several small innovations over the years.
Nothing brought him more joy than sharing his love of the outdoors with his grandchildren. Fishing was his greatest passion; he will be remembered by all who knew him and those who spent time beside him on the water. When you were out fishing with Dale, his last words were “one more cast".
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Dale's memory to One Lagoon, an Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program.
A Committal Service will be held at Fountainhead Memorial Park, Palm Bay, Florida with Military Funeral Honors conducted by the U.S. Air Force for immediate family. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time.
