

He worked for Opto Mechanic for ten years, and retired from DRS Technologies, after 14 years of service manufacturing military optics and night vision equipment. Tommy was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served during the Vietnam war.
He loved fishing, gardening, barbequing, and helping his brother-in-law, Charlie, with his catering business, BBQ by CB.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sharon; his son, Darrel T. Sexton, Jr. "TJ", of Vero Beach; his "2nd son", Eddie Sexton, Jr. of Berea, KY; his brother, Robert Sexton and wife, Barb; his sisters, Velma Bowman and husband, CT, Rema Rippon and husband, Bob, Joy Ricketts, and Nancy Holliger and husband, Uli; his father-in-law, Clyde Burton; his brothers-in-law, Gene Burton, Charlie Burton, and Jim Weaver; his sister-in-law, Joy Weaver. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including 3 generations.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Veda Sexton; his brothers, Dean and Rudy Sexton; and nephew, Eddie Sexton, Sr.
Visitation will be held at Fountainhead Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, from 6 to 8 pm. Services will be in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at 10:00 am.
Donations may be made in Tommy's name to the American Diabetes Association .
