He was the husband of Roslyn Ragatz. They shared 58 years of marriage together.
Jim was the owner of Lee’s Locksmith and Bicycle Shop in Hollywood, Florida from 1964-1984. He and Roz relocated to Melbourne, Florida and opened Brevard Lock and Bike in 1986. In 2012, he sold the business to his daughter Sharon and son in law Robert. He continued to work part-time until his full retirement in January 2019.
In his early years, Jim served 5 years in the United States Army as an Army engineer.
He enjoyed collecting and restoring Street Rod cars and attending many car shows throughout the Southeast area with his wife Roz. Jim also had a passion for collecting vintage bicycles, and occasionally riding them as well though the neighborhood.
Jim worked hard all of his life, and he was an accomplished Master Locksmith and served the local community for many years. He was a kind, loving, and friendly man who liked to joke with his friends and family. Jim always had a story to share.
His wife Roslyn survives Jim, their children Sharon, David and Debra, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His beloved cat Squeaky who misses him daily also survives Jim.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.FountainheadFuneralHome.com for the Ragatz family.
