Donald Hewville Jones was born on August 4, 1927 in St Ann Jamaica WI, and died on March 30, 2021. He was one of 4 children and was preceded in death by his three sisters.

Donald Jones (DADDA) was married to his beloved wife “Brunache” for 63 years. Until her death in January 2015, they enjoyed a life full of devotion, love, and family. Their union produced four children, Charles Jones, Iris Alexander, Andrea Jones-White, and Donald Jones Jr. While living in Jamaica, Donald (known to the family as Dadda) became a land surveyor, and worked for the Geological Survey Department of Kingston, Jamaica. He supervised work crews across the 14 parishes on the island. In his position he made many business friends and acquaintances in his travels.During these trips, he used the opportunity to visit his extended family, sharing his humor and offering advice, and life expectation.

The family migrated to the United States in August 1970 and resided in Brooklyn, NY. He valued the importance of education, and he attended NYC Community College to further educate himself.

Donald worked as an Auto-Mechanic for many years, and he was exceptional mechanic. He was profound at the importance of being gainfully employed, he was not big on idle hands. So, he got certified as a driving instructor where his skills led him to Mc’Gibbon Driving School, where he partnered with the owner as an instructor. Sitting at home after retirement was not enough, he eventually took a position as a driver for Avis Car Rental and Shuttle Services.

Donald relocated to Palm Bay Florida, and while there, he was an ardent member of The Church of our Savior for many years. He recently moved to Miramar to live with one of his daughters.

Donald was a very extraordinary, intelligent, resilient, and strong person. While facing many challenges including failing health in his senior years, still provided for his family. He was a disciplined, honorable, and respected by those he encountered in his short lifetime. He was very observant man. In his quiet ways, he often shared his wisdom to whomever was willing to listen and learn. He was not always verbally expressive of his feelings, but he cherished and loved his family. His close friends and acquaintances were a particularly important part of his life. The brotherly bond they shared he valued very seriously, and never took it for granted. He sometimes used the visits as opportunities to play his favorite game Ludo, or dominoes; or share his enthusiasm for baseball and other sports.
