

Born in Bayside, New York on March 5, 1934, she was the daughter of Vincent and Pearl Swislosky. She was employed at Additive Products Division in the 1980’s.
Dorothea was a member of the American Legion from 1965 until the present. She enjoyed crocheting; making afghans for everyone. She also enjoyed cooking and keeping recipes; she was always making pineapple upside down cake. Dorothea will always be cherished by her family. She will be remembered as loving and caring. She was helpful, was straightforward, spoke her mind and you knew she meant business when she counted 1, 2, 3.
She is survived by her husband Alfred and her children: John Hartley, Cynthia Jean Cody (John Cody), Thomas C. Kairis, Dorothea Emmons (Vernon Emmons), William Markland (ex-wife Lorraine), Alice Markland (Fiancé Billy), and Candace Markland; grandchildren: David, Brian, Jennifer, John Jr., Elizabeth, Daniel, Jessica, Joshua, Corrine, Richard, Jaclyn, Jamie, and Larissa; great-grandchildren: Alexis, Ryan, Ricky, Alora, Brian, David, Mason, Aaron, John, Amiyah, Camren, Aiden, Caleb, Cody, Keagan, Jase, Joshua Jr.; step-children: Diane Montalto (Joe Montalto) and Dennis Hartley; step-grandchildren: Robbie, Alice, Darren, Juliet, Joshua, Amy, and Garrett; and several step-great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Claire. She is predeceased by her parents; brothers: Ginny Swislosky, Vincent Swislosky, and Eddie Swislosky; sister Jennifer Swislosky; and step-daughter Joyce Mussen.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909. The viewing will be from 12:00 pm to the time of the service. Inurnment will be at a later date in Missouri.
