Douglas D. Roccaforte, 78, of Palm Bay, FL, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013. A native of Los Angeles, CA, Douglas moved to Florida in 1990 where he and his wife owned and operated their own tax consulting and accounting practice in Melbourne for 16 years before retiring.
Douglas was an all-star baseball catcher in high school and for Loyola University. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates but a career ending injury at Loyola prevented him from joining the major leagues. He was a graduate of Loyola University School of Law, and practiced in both California and Florida He enjoyed vacations with his wife and dogs to the mountains, fishing, collecting artifacts and learning about Native American history and culture.
Douglas is survived by his wife of 32 years, Adriane of Palm Bay, 1 son, Douglas of Los Angeles, 2 daughters: Gina of Los Angeles and Paula (Daniel) Margulies of San Diego; 5 grandchildren: Sasha, Max, Denelle, Rochelle, and Jenelle.
A celebration of Douglas' life will be held Sunday (10/20) from 1:30 PM-3:30PM at Fountainhead Funeral Home.
