Edwin was an accomplished chef and worked in Brooklyn, NY at the time of his passing. He loved listening to and dancing to Salsa music, cooking, cycling, and going to movies with friends. He was a generous soul and helped many residents at a shelter that he worked at as a chef.
He is survived by his parents Raul and Gladys Mercado, his daughters Destiny DeThomas and Edmary DeThomas, his sister Ellen DeThomas and her family and the Mercado family. He is preceded in death by his father Edwin DeThomas, Sr.
Services will be private at the families request.
