Our dearest Eliane Larrieux Laventure was born on October 14, 1932 in Haiti; she lost her mother at the tender age of 5 years old. Eliane was therefore raised by her grandmother Grandca. Our great grandmother Grandca raised Eliane with a very stern rod; believe it or not that stern up bringing had made Eliane a very strong no-nonsense woman.
Eliane was the second born of 4 children. She married Mr. Ribo Laventure and had 4 children of her own. She migrated to New York to follow her husband in hopes of finding a better life to raise her family in the United States. Eliane made the impossible become possible; once she realized the future was promising and filled with hope; she knew she was on the right path with positive results.
Eliane wasn't shy to take the initiative; Eliane made sure that every family member she left behind in Haiti was to be given that same opportunity she had in coming to America and brought all her family and friends legally to America; to family members and close friends, Eliane was known by her nickname "Mommy Yanne". She hosted all who came from Haiti, Canada or France in her home until they all were able to start a positive life for themselves. Eliane Laventure was known as the matriarch of the Laventure family.
Eliane was introduced to the truth in the early 1970's. Eliane was baptized in 1976, as one of Jehovah's Witness; growing up she didn't have time to cry and focus over spilled milk; she definitely turned lemons to lemonade. Eliane remembered the bad experience in order to persevere to make better decisions for her family's future; she never let the sad times hold her back, even when she loss her husband in death in 1980.
Eliane had a variety of skills which allowed her to design her own wedding dress and catered her own wedding reception. She was a seamstress, hairdresser, Our family started out living in Brooklyn in the 1960's; realizing she wanted a proper home to raise her family she no longer wanted to live in apartments; she accomplished her vision with her husband by her side by purchasing a house in Queens Village NY.
Eliane knew that she didn't do any of her great accomplishments on her own. Our mother put all her faith in Jehovah God, where her strength grew with God's blessings. Eliane was an inspiration to all her family members and friends. She worked in various Jobs in order to provide for her family, eventually she found her calling as a “Care Giver”, soon after she got a job at “The Parker Jewish Geriatric Institute” her patients and employers loved her; she was a very hard and reliable worker. Eliane truly enjoyed helping others; she treated her patients with dignity, respect and compassion.
Eliane finally retired and moved to Melbourne Florida where she continued serving Jehovah in Minton congregation in Melbourne, Florida; she was also blessed with a green thumb, everything she planted turned out successfully; she planted mangoes, star fruit, papayas, limes, oranges, sugar canes, Avocados and etc.
Eliane leaves behind her children Jean Richard, Marie Flore, Mike and Rosemarie Nadia. She also left behind her daughter in law Michelle and her two grandkids Alisha and Michael and her great grandkids: Ila, Esme, Savi, Lielani and Mia.
