Elizabeth “Lizzie” Mae Simmons, 89, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge. Lizzie was born in Georgia and came to Brevard County in 1964.
Lizzie retired from Harris Corp where she worked assembling electronics. She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the Mother’s Board, Choir #1, the Kitchen Committee, and was a “Golden Girl” at the church.
Lizzie was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. She is survived by her sister Ida Newkirk of Thomasville, GA, a great host of nieces and nephews, and her great nieces and nephew Camarri, Cmya, and Denise Thorp.
