Emily Holwey Mohamed, 92, of Micco died Wednesday (2/26) in the Sebastian River Medical Center. A native of Detroit, Michigan she came to the Micco area 50 years ago from Michigan City, Indiana. Emily had worked for Hale Groves and also for IBM Corporation prior to devoting all her time to raising her family. She also had been a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Sebastian. All her friends and family remember Emily as always living her life by the guidelines of generosity, being selfless, and compassionate to everyone. All looked to her caring nature and felt that she was as a saint.
Emily was one of seven children in her family and five have preceded her in death: Fred, Mary, Isabelle, Victoria, and Olga. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Sam; daughter: Leslie (Bob) Bishop of Melbourne; brother: Phillip (Yvonne) Holwey of Detroit, MI; grandchildren: Shaun Bishop of Colorado, Seth Bishop of Melbourne; Leslie’s mother-in-law: Dianne Shelton of Melbourne and many nieces and nephews.
