Erma H. Christman, 89, of Melbourne died Friday (5/23) at home with those who cared for her at her side. A native of Pottsville, Penn she came to the Melbourne area in 2008 from the Philadelphia area where she grew up and resided most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Malabar and had retired from State Farm Insurance where she was an Underwriting Assistant. She was a member of Chapter 13, Order of Easter Star in Philadelphia. A camera buff, Erma was a member of several camera clubs throughout Pennsylvania and had won many photo contests with her submissions. She also enjoyed gardening and received many complements on her gardens which were always filled with pink and purple flowers.
Preceded in death by her husband Donald B. Christman and a sister and brother-in-law Jean (B. Elliott) Lukens, Erma is survived by her daughters: Erma (George) Hartwell of Melbourne, E. Jean (William) Lukens of Phoenix, AZ; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
