

Felicita Melendez Torres, a.k.a. Fela, was 88 years old when the Lord called her to heaven on Friday, August 8, 2020, at the William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida. She was the widow of Jose Luis Marquez. They shared 36 years of marriage together.
Felicita was born in Luquillo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Antonia Torres and Juan Melendez. She graduated high school and worked in various manufacturing plants before she started her own businesses as a professional seamstress, hair stylist, and floral designer.
Felicita was raised Catholic and during the last 7+ years of her life, she attended Calvary Chapel with her daughter where she prayed the salvation prayer on numerous occasions. Among many things she enjoyed cooking, entertaining, dancing, and sewing. She will be remembered by her beauty, integrity, honesty, generosity, and her appreciation and love of her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Myrna, her grandson Gabe, her great-grandson Christian and future great-granddaughter SerousVik’Toriah. She was pre-deceased by her husband Jose Luis, beloved sisters Maria and Epifania, and brothers Juan, Silvano, Francisco, Herman and Felipe.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock St. SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00pm, followed by a memorial service from 3:00-4:00pm, and internment at 4:00pm at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
