Ghislaine Sinous Jean was born on July 18, 1935, in Grande Rivière du Nord, Haiti, to Marie Rachel Helvetius and Thermeus Sinous. As the eldest of eight children, she exemplified responsibility, strength, grace, and compassion from an early age.
She pursued her education in Cap-Haïtien and Port-au-Prince, where she met the love of her life, Joseph Anery Jean. They were united in marriage in 1956 and built a life rooted in faith, love, family, and service. Together, they raised eleven children and created a home grounded in Christian values, discipline, and unwavering devotion.
After immigrating to the United States, Ghislaine faithfully served in the Seventh-day Adventist Church for many years. Whether in New York, Massachusetts, or Florida, she was known for her dedication as a deaconess, her love of worship, and her joyful participation in church ministry. Her faith in God remained the foundation of her life.
Ghislaine was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She worked diligently throughout her life, caring for both her family and others with kindness, humility, and compassion.
On June 24, 2026, Ghislaine peacefully entered her eternal rest, surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, resilience, love, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her love, wisdom, and example will remain forever in our hearts.
