Herbert Oliver Powell

Herbert Oliver Powell passed on May 30, 2026, at the age of 95; he was born on August 7, 1930, in Smithville, West Indies, Jamaica, to parents Charles Powell and Clementina Elizabeth LaGranage Powell.

Herbert moved from New York to Brevard County's Space Coast in 1995. He was well respected for his work at the Ministry of Agriculture, bringing his talents and skills to the livestock department. He also worked for Westinghouse Electric company in the sales department. Herbert enjoyed speaking time supporting the community efforts of the Brevard Caribbean American Sports & Culture Association. He had many friends among the members attending there. Herb pursued pasttimes playing dominos with friends and family, his gardening, and was noteworthy for his fruits.

He will be remembered lovingly by all for his trustworthy and wise counsel, his inspirational guidance and encouragement to others.

A Public Visitation will be held in the Royal Palm Chapel room at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, in Palm Bay, Florida, Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10:00am to 11:00am.

A Funeral Service will immediately follow also in the Royal Palm Chapel room at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home, 11:00am to 12:00pm.

A Committal Service will follow at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida, June 20, 2026, from 12:00pm to 12:45pm.
