Hortense A. Grant

August 13, 1940November 2, 2019

Hortense Adassa Grant (Claire), age 79, passed away on November 2nd, 2019 at Palm Bay Hospital. She was the wife of Ephraim Grant. They shared 52 years of marriage together.

She was born in St. Catherine, Jamaica where she received her basic education. She then migrated to England to pursue a nursing career. Eventually, she moved to the United States. While residing in Malabar, Florida, she worked at the Red Cross and at Circles of Care. She was the Director of Education at Casel Healthcare Training Center in Palm Bay. Claire was a long time member of First Pentecostal Church of Palm Bay. She will be remembered for her compassion and generosity.

She is survived by her husband, Ephraim; grandchildren: Jessica, Myasia, Nyrissa, and Taureonna; siblings: Kathleen, James, Monica, Gloria, and Doreen; many nieces, nephews, and very special friends.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 16th, 2019 at First Pentecostal Church of Palm Bay, 1021 Emerson Drive NE, Palm Bay, Florida 32907 with interment at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909. The viewing will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, November 15th, 2019 at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909 and again on Saturday at the church from 2:00 pm to the time of the service.
