My condolences to the Minto Family. Iona was one of the greatest and most supportive friend of my mother she will be greatly missed. 

A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands gone to rest. A golden crown awaits you. I appreciate the time Iona spent in our family. You added much value. RIP my dear sister.

Iona Clarke Minto 

I met Chunnie in the 70s after I got married to her uncle Roger. 

She called him Uncle and although we were only a year apart, she called me Auntie ... a term of endearment which I treasured. 

The first thing that struck me about her was how ambitious she was. She had dreams,  she had plans and was not swayed by obstacles but she pushed through every barrier to achieve what many felt would have been impossible. 

She was a caring, generous person who would go the extra mile to give assistance.
I recalled when her Uncle Roger died basically at the airport she rushed to the hospital to join the group of other family members who were there.  
Our luggage was already on the plane when this happened.  I was so distraught that I didn't remember that I had no clothes,  every thing had gone back to Jamaica.  It was Chunnie who said  " but Auntie,  you have no clothes ! ". This angel took me shopping for  underwear,  night wear, day wear .  This expression of kindness and love will forever be etched in my heart. 

She loved her family.... and her children and grandchildren were her world and no discussion could ever take place without her mentioning them. She was so proud of you Lisa, Darnell and the grandkids. 

Most importantly,  she loved God. She knew her Lord and had an awesome relationship with Him. I had the privilege of spending a few nights with her and she was always on her early morning prayer meeting with her prayer partners. 

  I thank God that I had the opportunity of knowing and interacting with this beautiful soul. 
I know she is resting safely in the arms of her Lord. 

My deepest sympathy to  Lisa  Darne & the rest of Family, in this time of grief, take comfort in knowing she's  resting in the arms of Jesus💛💙❤🙏

Iona came into the Minto family by Law and remained in our hearts until she made her transition. A precious soul I know has earned her place in God's flower garden. RIP until we meet again.

I met Iona in the 1960’s. We were living at Rose Mount Crossing/Salt Spring Road, Montego Bay, Jamaica.  We worked together as background actress/extras on a movie set Skullduggery, starring Burt Reynolds and Susan Clake.  In the late 1970’s I immigrated to the United State.  In the early 1980’s we surprisingly reconnected in the Fashion Design program at Sheridan Vocational Technical School. We then found out that we lived in the same city Hollywood, Florida,
 Iona loved fashion. In Technical School our group was made up of four good friends. Together we shared, studied, and graduated. Later, Iona started her own business (Iona’s Boutique) with her own designs line of   clothing on Sheridan Street, Hollywood, Florida.

Ms. Iona was a guardian angel to my stepmom, Barbara. She opened her home, provided thorough help, and made a space in her heart for Barbara. 
Ms. Iona came through for us when we were in such a dark and helpless place that was not going to improve. We were stressed and out of options when she graciously said, "Bring her to my house". 
Ms. Iona picked Barbara up from a hellish rehab center and brought her into her beautiful home, Nomel's, where Barbara spent her remaining months being thoroughly cared for and loved. 
I would be a wreck over something, often due to our disasterous healthcare system, but her calming voice and optimism instantly soothed me. She could reassure me faster than anyone. Ms. Iona once said, 'I told my daughter to promise me she would take excellent care of Barbara if I die." I thanked her without overthinking it. 
Ms. Iona kept her promise. Above and beyond. It makes she transitioned on Easter. Ofcourse she did, because she was the embodiment what love looks like. Rest in Power, Saintly Queen. 

My condolences to the entire family of Ms Iona , my heart is really sadden to learn of her passing , I met ms Iona few years ago in Palm Bay the first time we met we just click we became friends more like sisters , she’s a beautiful soul , she came into my life and she leaves a trail of beautiful memories, may her soul sleep restfully in her savior’s arms , you are a beautiful Rose and God is picking his Roses 🌹 he choose you , you will be surely miss , 

Tribute: Although words seem to say little, I hope they help in someway to ease the sense of loss. Iona and I met in the 80s by attending fashion design school. We did it! Fashion was her first name. At school, what she put out was elegance. She lived a life serving God. Her strength and faith never wavered despite the battle.

                           REFLECTION 
Iona and I crossed each other's path at Infant School.
There began our journey of sixty-four years.
We walked to and from school.
We ate and played together. It was great fun.
Each others family was our family.
As young  adults we took separate paths but our bond was firmly cemented.
Death  has ended this earthly journey but by God's grace we will meet again.

My deepest condolences to the  families and friends of Ionia, may the good Lord grant them happiness and comfort in the time of need.  He saw her pain and suffering and said no more my Child , she’s now free and at rest with the eternal father.

Last and lasting memory of my friend. I invited her to NJ for my birthday…. She dropped everything and came running. We had a ball… she was such a positive powerful woman… nothing she couldn’t do…. Best mother, friend and cornbread baker.  I will miss her… She is Risen with Christ. Let’s not mourn as if there’s no hope.

I met Iona a  few years ago. She was a dear friend and like a mother to me,  so  therefore we loved each other and fought with each like a mom does with her children.   Lol .  She was the reason why I opened my own Homecare business. She stood by me professionally, emotionally, spiritually and in every way she could.  I enjoyed going to many dinners, and the casino but the best was just sitting in my living room, drinking wine 🍷 and telling stories.  I will miss you forever! I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET IONA .  SHE WAS A MOST LIKEABLE PERSON AND I CERTAINLY ENJOYED HER VISIT TO MY HOME.    I WAS SAD TO LEARN OF HER PASSING.  MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.   I WILL MISS HER VISITS TO MY HOME.
